It's time for the tail end of this journey. This week is hometown dates, and there are only FOUR WOMEN left. Ben cannot believe his luck. So much so that he really is wishing he could marry all four and give polygamy a whirl.
The first hometown belongs to Amanda in The OC. California, here we come, right back where we started from. They sit on a beach blanket, watching the waves. Amanda informs Ben that he will be meeting her daughters. The excitement!
Amanda really can't confirm her feelings for Ben until she sees her babies reaction to him. They have a beautiful, emotional reunion and I cry. The little ones are very cute in matching outfits and pigtails. That is my dream, matching children, matching dachshunds, matching sweaters, everything..
As to be expected, Ben is great with them. The girls spend some time chasing Ben all over the beach, just like I would if I was in this situation. I'm enjoying his shorts A LOT. My mother wanted me to add in this blog that she is also enjoying his "little shorts."
After the fun times at the beach, Ben and Amanda head back to Amanda's place. The little one cries the whole time. Ben seems fine with it. We meet Amanda's parents and sister. Amanda's parents are weary that Ben is ready for kids. He's a fairly young Bachelor, after all.
I just love Amanda. I really want him to pick her. Her mom gives Amanda her blessing - although she does have reservations. Meanwhile, Ben is talking to Amanda's dad. Her dad wants to get real and lays down the facts. Ben will be a father and will be sacrificing a lot to be with Amanda and her kids. Ben says that he still cares for Amanda and would be willing to take it all on.
WHAT A MAN.
Next, we go to Lauren B.'s hometown of Portland, Oregon. They have a lovely reunion, kissing and jumping into one another's arms..blah blah. Lauren is very excitable. She shows him around and then takes him to get some greasy fried street food. She expresses her love for butter, which I appreciate.
They're so gross.
After this she takes him to a whiskey library and it doesn't even look like they're drinking whiskey?!
COME ON.
Lauren expresses that she is nervous of the unknown............

oh wait! just saw that Ben is in fact drinking whiskey. she looks like she's having some Pinot.
Which reminds me; I wonder how Lace is doing!?
Time to meet Lauren's family, regardless. They're all just as excitable as she is. They seem like a nice, close knit family. Lauren's sister wastes no time pulling Ben aside. Sisters are always the toughest. She, of course, wants the run down on everything. Ben tells Lauren's sister that Lauren is "incredible" (just like he told Amanda's fam...awkward)
Lauren's sister presents a good question. She says that in her opinion, Lauren is pretty, funny, smart, has good values..any guy would be lucky to have her, any guy could fall in love with her...so what makes her special to Ben?
And I really think this is a good question!
Coming in with the clutch, Lauren's sister, asking all the right questions.
Then Ben starts fucking crying and I just want to die of embarrassment. What the hell is going on?
OK A MAN WHO ISN'T AFRAID TO CRY?!
BEN, STOP IT.
STOP IT IMMEDIATELY.
When Ben has the sit down with Lauren's dad, he asks Ben what makes Lauren different. Ben says that the world stopped when he first saw her.
I mean it's pretty obvious he's absolutely in love with Lauren.. and he will definitely ask her to be his wife. Right!?
Let's just end this shit here.
It's time for Caila and Ben's time.
Ben travels to Hudson, OHIO...HAAAAY HOLLA!
Caila introduces Ben to her preppy, expensive private school where she went to college. She makes up some lie about couples sitting on this bench all the time and how jealous she would be. I'm sure she's taken some guys to this bench before..but I'm not going to go there.

I appreciate that she decided that of all the places she bounced around, she felt the most at home in Ohio. Because duh. Ohio is great.
Not that I'm biased, or anything.
Caila takes Ben to her dad's company where he is the CEO of just this "small little toy company" aka STEP 2 which is actually not a small little toy company...which means Caila's family are literally millionaires.
Kill me.
Caila claims that she is finally ready to tell Ben that she is in love with him.
Caila brings Ben to her MANSION.
((why are all of these women so rich? can't we have a bachelor wander into a normal home?!))
Caila is clearly nervous any time her dad speaks. LOL
Caila's mom takes Ben aside and wants to get the deets. I hope he does not use the phrase "sex panther."
Ben basically tells her mom that Caila terrifies him because he cares about her but doesn't know if she will ever love him.
Caila opens up to her dad emotionally, saying that she really thinks this is it. And it was actually really heartwarming because she was shaking and clearly nervous to open up..but it seems like maybe her feelings for Ben ARE real.
I'm not afraid to admit that maybe I've been wrong this whole time about Caila.
Plus, Ben would never have to work a day in his life if he married her.
Caila wants desperately to tell Ben that she loves him but she still feels a fear holding her back.
GAHHH WITH THE FEAR.
Why is everyone so fucking AFRAID this season?

Finally, the last hometown date: Joelle.

Dallas, Texas, the city of big churches, big houses, and big hair.
JoJo approaches her house and sees a bouquet of roses from Ben...EXCEPT IT'S NOT FROM BEN.
It's from her EX BOYFRIEND............CHAD.

She's very upset, throws the letter aside, and paces around talking to...us? I guess?
Poor JoJo. It must be hard to have men fall at your feet.
In her defense, that letter with the bouquet of roses was pretttttttty shitty. Like he even made the letter sound like Ben wrote it at first LOL

Chad tells JoJo that he has to tell her how he feels about her right now and if not it's over for good. Right as Ben is walking up to the door. What the fuck, producers? Could you be any more obvious....
Ben can tell something is wrong because JoJo answers the door still crying. He asks JoJo what's up and she is honest with him. Ben is sweating.....like really badly. She tells Ben that she called her ex and ended everything. But she still keeps the roses on her side table in a vase...?
Ben needs a towel or something to blot this sweat away.
Through tears she tells Ben that she is the happiest she's ever been with him.
LOL
JoJo then brings Ben to her family's MANSION.
Wait. So was her crying on her couch their date portion..?
Yah. I think JoJo is going home tonight, you guys.
Unless this family date is stunning. Which I highly doubt judging from previews.
JoJo walks in and her family attacks her with love, not even giving Ben the time of day. JoJo's family includes her parents, her sister, and her two older brothers...one of which is named Ben. And Brother Ben looks very familiar, like maybe I dreamt him once?
Her parents and sister are really happy and ready for Bachelor Ben...but Brother Ben and the other one..are more skeptical. They don't enjoy Bachelor Ben for the simple fact that JoJo has been hurt very badly before, and also that he is considering marrying three other women besides their sister. But that's not as big a deal as the former, right?
The brothers sit Ben down and Ben tries to be as honest with them as possible. They don't love what they're hearing. They want to hear that Ben is basically ready to choose her. They're kind of douche-y, especially Brother Ben...but I get the concern.
Her mom pulls JoJo aside and they talk...for maybe the first time ever? JoJo tells her mom that she is scared and upset - her mom says "but whyyy you're so beautiful?"
Because beautiful people are not allowed to cry.
Crying is for ugly peasants.
I'm not going to remark on the bad plastic surgery, by the way. I just won't go there.
JoJo talks to her brothers and they are very concerned. They cannot process the fact that she is falling for him after only knowing him this short time and going on two actual dates. And to be honest: this is a genuine and honest feeling. I don't blame her brothers, however douchey they may be. Everyone else is living in a fantasy land.
Just because it's a reality show about a guy falling in love with a bunch of women doesn't mean the end result is only his happy ending. The other women leave feeling like damaged goods. We've seen it time and time again. I think Ben is getting wrapped up, he's doing his best.
JoJo's brothers, and parents confront Ben in the kitchen. The one brother tells Ben that this is psychologically damaging to his sister. The music gets serious.
Meanwhile, JoJo's mother picks up a bottle of champagne and just starts drinking it...straight from the bottle.

Maybe JoJo shouldn't listen to her mom's advice about going in for Ben 150% when she's clearly inebriated. Actually, maybe everyone is drunk right now.
They are really putting him on blast right now. Damn.
The dad tries to be the peacemaker, but the damage is pretty much done. Ben looks like a wet dog right now. He cannot stop sweating.
At this point my dad walks through the room, very curious, he says, "what a circus."
Yeah. What a circus indeed. This whole show is a circus.
Let's get to the mother-effing rose ceremony.

Ben walks in and tells them this has been the most difficult week thusfar.

First Rose goes to Lauren B....as usual.
Second Rose goes to Caila....oh, I was expecting Amanda. oh no.
Third Rose goes to JoJo......*gasps*

They have a nice little convo outside of the mansion. Amanda is surprisingly understanding and cool with it. Which makes it such even more because she's not crying like a frantically depressing maniac.
Now she's going to go home and her little girl is going to be like "where's Ben?!" and my heart BREAKS.
Ben is still fucking standing there crying to the camera. He tells the camera that he would like her to know that he cares a lot, and how much it meant to him to meet her kids...then he chokes up and it's SO SAD.
Ugh, Ben, you're too cute for this world.
I really hope Amanda is the next Bachelorette. I mean, it'll probably be Becca...but who knows?
